How does the per-person figure work?
The calculator adds four buckets — lodging (a group nightly rate × nights), golf (green fee × rounds per player × players), travel (a per-person cost × players), and food (per person per day × players × nights) — then divides the grand total by the number of players. Splitting a shared rental across the group is exactly why the per-person number usually lands lower than people expect.
Is lodging entered per person or for the whole group?
Enter lodging as the whole group's cost for one night — for example the nightly rate of a shared rental house or the combined cost of the rooms you're booking. The tool multiplies it by the number of nights and then splits the total across all players, so a bigger group sharing one house drives the per-person cost down.
What about stay-and-play packages?
Many resorts bundle rounds and rooms into a single stay-and-play price. If you have a package quote, you can approximate it by putting the lodging-plus-golf portion into the lodging field and setting green fees to zero, or split the package back out into its nightly and per-round parts. Either way, treat the result as a planning estimate and confirm the real package price with the resort.
Should I include a rental car and tips?
Put a shared rental car, airport transfers, or fuel into the per-person travel field (divide the car's cost by the group if you're sharing one). Caddie tips and dining gratuities are easiest to fold into the food-per-day figure. The goal is a realistic all-in number, so it's better to slightly overestimate the incidentals than to leave them out.
